What oil is in Skin and Coat?

Fullolife Skin and Coat is a blend of Vegetable, Starflower and Fish Oil that helps to keep the skin nourished and the coat moisturised.

Where does Fish Oil come from?

Fish Oil is created when the full body of the fish is crushed. The oil comes primarily from oily fish as this provides the highest level of Omega 3.

What is Starflower Oil?

Starflower Oil comes from the starflower which has intense blue flowers. It is also known as Borage which was traditionally grown as an English garden herb. Starflower oil is an Omega 6 fatty acid and is ideal for maintaining both a healthy hormonal balance and nourishing dry skin.

Why don’t you use Evening Primrose Oil?

Starflower Oil contains almost 3 times the amount of GLA (Gamma linolenic acid) found in Evening Primrose Oil so you need less Starflower oil to achieve the same benefits.

What does Vitamin A do?

Vitamin a helps to maintain healthy vision and healthy skin.

What does Vitamin D do?

Vitamin D helps to maintain healthy bone development and healthy skin.

Can I overdose my dog?

You cannot overdose on Omega 3 or 6 but we would advise that you follow the recommended daily feeding guidelines. It is advisable to only feed the RDA of Vitamin D.

Can I feed Fullolife to my cat?

All Fullolife supplements apart from the Calmer can be fed to cats. We would recommend feeding at the lowest recommended dose.

Why should I feed a fish oil supplement?

Fish oil helps to maintain a healthy heart, healthy joints and a healthy brain. Fish Oil contains the Essential Fatty Acid – Omega 3 in a concentrated dose. Omega 3 is essential as it cannot be produced by the body and must be gained through a dog’s diet.

I have heard that Flax Oil is better than Fish Oil for Omega 3. Is that true?

Both Flax Oil and Fish Oil contain Omega 3. Flax Oil contains ALA – Alpha Linolenic Acid. Fish Oil contains DHA – Docosahexaenoic Acid and EPA – Eicosapentaenoic Acid. ALA needs converting into DHA and EPA as these are the fatty acids which help to maintain the healthy heart, healthy joints and a healthy brain. The body cannot easily or efficiently convert ALA into DHA and EPA so in Fullolife, we use Fish Oil as the Omega 3 is already in the format the body needs.

Why does my dog need nutritional supplements?

Dogs need nutritional support at different stages in their life. Dogs of all ages can benefit from a general health supplement such as Cod Liver Oil. Older dogs, larger breeds or those prone to joint problems can benefit from a joint care supplement in the same way that humans with arthritis can. Skin & Coat problems can affect a pet at any time and are usually nutrition or hormone related. Skin problems can also be caused by changes in the environment. Freshly cut grass, floor cleaners or even fabric deodorising sprays used on pet bedding can all have an effect.

Can I feed Fullolife to my rabbit or guinea pig?

My dog has arthritis. Will High Strength Joint Care cure it?

Nutritional supplements are not medicinal so will not cure illness but they can help improve a pet’s condition when fed alongside a complete diet. The key ingredient in High Strength Joint Care – Omega 3 – has been widely researched and studies have proven that Omega 3 can help improve mobility and reduce joint stiffness.

My dog has eczema. Will Skin & Coat cure it?

Nutritional supplements are not medicinal so will not cure illness but they can help improve a pet’s condition when fed alongside a complete diet. The key ingredients in Skin & Coat – Omega 3, Omega 6 & Starflower Oil – have been widely researched and studies have proven that they can help improve skin and coat condition.

Can I feed Fullolife to my puppy?

With High Strength Joint Care we would recommend feeding from 12 weeks starting with a few drops and building up gradually to 10ml per 500g of food until puppy is fully grown. Pure Cod Liver Oil and Skin & Coat can be fed at the start of weaning by adding a few drops into the mouth. When weaned, build up gradually to 10ml per 500g of food until puppy is fully grown.

My dog doesn’t like the taste of oil what can I do?

Store it in the fridge as this helps reduces the odour associated with strong smelling oils and mix well with their favourite food.

Can I feed two supplements at once?

If you wish to feed two oil supplements at once, half the dose of each. If you wish to feed fullolife in addition to another nutritional supplement such as a tablet based product, please contact us for advice.

Does it matter which type of food I feed this with?

No.

My dog has a sensitive stomach. What do you advise?

Start off with a low dose and build up gradually to the recommended doseage. If you are concerned, speak to your vet.

How long does it take to see an improvement?

Nutrition is not a short term fix. Changes can be seen within a matter of weeks but the benefits can only be maintained if fed over a sustained period. Any nutritional product claiming an almost immediate change in a pet’s health should be viewed with caution.

What causes dry skin?

Hormonal imbalances, grass, poor diet, central heating, weather, illness… the list is endless. If you have concerns then please visit your vet.

Why is my pet moulting?

Pets moult as the seasons change. You can expect the moulting to be more noticeable if your pet lives in a home with central heating. It is important to groom your pet regularly to help maintain this shedding of hair.

Which products contain Omega 3?

All of the Fullolife products contain Omega 3.

Does Fullolife contain Glucosamine or Chondroitin?

No, glucosamine and chondroitin are not naturally present in fish, cod or vegetable oils. Fullolife High Strength Joint Care can be fed alongside a supplement containing glucosamine and chondroitin.

What is the difference between Fullolife and other products on the market?

Fullolife is based purely on natural oils that offer nutritional health benefits. We do not make health claims that cannot be substantiated. We also pride ourselves on providing value for money.

Can I buy it in a larger size?

At the moment there are no plans to launch these products in a larger size but later in the year we will be launching a range of Equine and Smallholder supplements in a 4 Litre bottle.

What is the difference between Salmon Oil and Pure Cod Liver Oil?

The most noticeable difference is the colour of the oil. Salmon Oil has a pink/orange tint similar in colour to a salmon fillet whereas Cod Liver Oil has a golden appearance. Nutritionally, Salmon Oil contains higher levels of EPA and DHA but it does not contain vitamins A & D which are naturally present in Pure Cod Liver Oil.

Why is Salmon Oil good for puppies?

Salmon Oil is an excellent source of DHA which is necessary for brain development and the healthy structure of nerves and cells making it an excellent source of nutrition for growing puppies

Eicosapentaenoic Acid helps maintain healthy and supple joints, circulation and cardiac function

Which product can I use to help maintain weight on my horse?

Oil is very dense in energy, having around three times the number of calories as carbohydrate. As it is easily digested and absorbed, it is an excellent way to maintain weight. Any of the Fullolife horse products will help maintain weight and as they are unprocessed will also provide the benefits of essential fatty acids.

I am worried about feeding Soya Oil to my ‘fizzy’ horse…?

Soya Oil, due to its relatively slow breakdown, is ideal for horses that tend to get ‘fizzy’. It will help provide added energy and condition without the ‘fizz’.

How much should I feed to my horse?

The amount required by your horse will vary according to his exercise regime and the objective of adding oil to the diet. Follow the instructions recommended on the packaging or speak to an equine nutritionist if you are unsure.

Can Pure Cod Liver Oil be fed to my Youngstock?

Yes it can and it can also be fed to Broodmares to help maintain good condition. We recommend the lowest dose when feeding to Youngstock

What makes your Joint Care high strength?

Fullolife High Strength Joint Care is based on 100% fish oil meaning that the Omega 3 content has not been diluted with vegetable oils.

Is High Strength Joint Care suitable for a showjumper?

Yes, any horse that is in hard work can benefit from Fullolife High Strength Joint Care. The rich source of Omega 3 is key in maintaining healthy joints and mobility.

Which product is best for improving coat quality and skin health?

Although Pure Cod Liver Oil maintains healthy skin and coat, Soya Oil contains linoleic acid, which is used in the production of the skin’s natural oils and is best for coat condition.

My horse is lazy, will feeding oil give them an energy boost?

Yes, especially Soya Oil which is known for its slow releasing energy without adding fizz. (See ‘How does Soya Oil provide energy’.)

How does Soya Oil provide energy?

Soya oil is an excellent source of slow releasing energy providing a very accessible source of muscle fuel for horses, particularly those in endurance-type work. The prolonged release allows the store of energy to last longer improving stamina

Is the Fullolife range made from completely natural sources?
